The Bears are bringing in QB Matt Gutierrez a former Patriot and Kansas City Chief to test him out until Caleb Hanie can return from his injury.  Hanie injured his shoulder in Saturday's game, but has no structural damage or separation occurred so the time he'll miss should be relatively small.

Gutierrez isn't much of a veteran upgrade over what the Bears already have on place.  The Bears were in the market for a veteran QB and spoke with Todd Collins and Trent Green earlier today but both showed no interest.

The question for Gutierrez is can he be more than a training camp arm that takes the load off of Dan LeFevour and Jay Cutler.  He'll likely be counted upon to eat up significant minutes against the Raiders.

The third year pro spent his college career at Idaho State and has stints with the two aforementioned teams.
